🧭 Recommended Progression Path

Ashina Outskirts → Hirata Estate → Ashina Castle → Senpou Temple → Sunken Valley → Ashina Depths → Fountainhead Palace → Return to Ashina

Note: Senpou Temple and Sunken Valley can be done in either order. Hirata Estate is accessible early but challenging.

🏔️ Ashina Outskirts (Starting Area)

Boss: Gyoubu Oniwa | Mini-Bosses: Chained Ogre, General Tenzen Yamauchi

Key Items: Prosthetic tools (Shuriken, Firecracker), Gourd Seed (outskirts wall)
Prayer Beads: 2 (Ogre + Tenzen)
Notable: Memorial Mob merchant sells Firecrackers. Talk to Old Woman near gate for Bell Demon (hard mode).
Sculptor's Idols: Outskirts Wall, Gate Path, Underbridge Valley, Outskirts Wall - Stairway

🏯 Hirata Estate (Memory / Optional)

Boss: Lady Butterfly | Mini-Bosses: Shinobi Hunter Enshin, Juzou the Drunkard

Key Items: Flame Vent, Loaded Axe, Mist Raven, Gourd Seed
Prayer Beads: 2 (Hunter + Juzou)
Access: Obtain Bell from Old Woman in Ashina Outskirts, offer it at Dilapidated Temple
Notable: Hidden paths everywhere. Check waterfall walls and ceiling grapple points.
Second Visit: After defeating Owl, use Father's Bell Charm (hidden quest item) to access alternate Hirata with new bosses.

🏰 Ashina Castle

Boss: Genichiro Ashina | Mini-Bosses: Blazing Bull, Lone Shadow Longswordsman, Seven Ashina Spears

Key Items: Loaded Spear, Gourd Seed, Sabimaru, Gun Fort Shrine Key
Prayer Beads: 3 (Bull + Longswordsman + Spears)
Notable: After Genichiro, the castle changes. New enemies appear, new paths open.
Kuro's Room: Talk to Kuro after Genichiro to advance the story.

⛩️ Senpou Temple (Mount Kongo)

Boss: Folding Screen Monkeys | Mini-Bosses: Armored Warrior, Long-arm Centipede Giraffe

Key Items: Divine Abduction, Puppeteer Ninjutsu, Gourd Seed
Prayer Beads: 2 (Armored Warrior + Centipede)
Notable: The Armored Warrior cannot be killed by vitality damage — must be pushed off the cliff.
Hidden Path: After monkeys, drop down near the temple for a secret tunnel to Ashina Depths.

🦅 Sunken Valley

Boss: Guardian Ape | Mini-Bosses: Snake Eyes Shirafuji, Long-arm Centipede Sen-un

Key Items: Finger Whistle, Gourd Seed, Slender Finger
Prayer Beads: 2 (Shirafuji + Sen-un)
Notable: Gun Fort has many snipers. Use stealth or grapple to bypass.
Guardian Ape Cave: After defeating the Ape, return for a second fight with his mate.

🌑 Ashina Depths

Boss: Corrupted Monk (illusion) | Mini-Bosses: Tokujiro the Glutton, Mist Noble

Key Items: Mibu Breathing Technique (underwater), Gourd Seed
Prayer Beads: 2 (Tokujiro + O'Rin of Water)
Notable: Hidden Village is full of mist. Follow the sound of music to find the boss.
Underwater: After Mibu Breathing Technique, explore all previous areas for underwater items.

💧 Fountainhead Palace (Endgame)

Boss: True Corrupted Monk | Mini-Bosses: Sakura Bull of the Palace, Okami Leader Shizu

Key Items: Divine Dragon's Tears, 2x Lapis Lazuli, Gourd Seed
Prayer Beads: 2 (Sakura Bull + Shizu)
Notable: Lightning is everywhere. Learn Lightning Reversal here — it's required for the final boss.
Great Colored Carp: Optional questline for 1 Lapis Lazuli and treasure.

🔥 Return to Ashina (Final Act)

Bosses: Great Shinobi Owl / Isshin Ashina (depends on choice), Demon of Hatred, Isshin Sword Saint

Story Branch: Choosing to obey Owl = Shura ending (early end, 2 bosses). Choosing to betray Owl = continue to true end.
Demon of Hatred: Optional but recommended. Drops Memory + Lapis Lazuli.
Isshin Sword Saint: Final boss. 4 phases. The ultimate test.
